Based on the testimony of Danuta Pietrzak
A comic based on the memoirs of Siberian exile Danuta Pietrzak, who, as a fifteen-year-old girl together with her mother and brother, was deported to Kazakhstan in April 1940. These memories served as the basis for the story written and illustrated by Paweł Piechnik. Through them we learn about the circumstances of the deportation, the hardships of the journey, and everyday life in Kazakhstan. The story also tells of a feeling that began to grow between the main heroine and a boy she met while… skipping school back in 1939.

The complete story will consist of two volumes, each containing 80 pages. They will also tell us about life in pre-war Białystok and the hardships of survival on the Kazakh steppe. The comic includes a special section with historical background and a glossary.
